Notes from A Home of Their Own Animal Rescue

Hi, I’m Arkansas! At 7 years old and about 30 pounds, I am an easygoing Beagle boy who simply enjoys the quiet rhythms of everyday life. I genuinely love people and want nothing more than to be around my humans, and I'm so patient and wonderful with kids, too! I do great with other dogs, and I’m pretty indifferent toward cats—feline drama isn't really my style, so I just let them do their own thing. I'm also a good house guest - my foster mom says I am housetrained! If you appreciate leisurely walks where every blade of grass gets a thorough sniff (I LOVE walks!), followed by quiet companionship on a soft rug, we’re going to be fast friends. I’m neutered, microchipped, fully up to date on all my vaccines, and I have officially finished my full heartworm treatment and recovery! If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal hound with soulful eyes and a gentle presence, come say hi!

What happens next

  1. Contact A Home of Their Own Animal Rescue using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to A Home of Their Own Animal Rescue, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
