Notes from Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center

Cairo is searching for a patient family willing to let him move at his own pace and discover what it feels like to be safe again. The shelter has been an overwhelming place for this sensitive boy, leaving him shy and unsure in all the hustle and bustle. But beneath that worried exterior is a gentle dog just waiting for someone to show him that the world isn't so scary. Give Cairo a little time, a little kindness, and a lot of love, and you'll start to see his sweet personality shine through. Cairo is housetrained, settles nicely in a crate when left alone, and enjoys spending time playing with his people. He has lived successfully with other large dogs but will need slow, thoughtful introductions to any future canine companions and is not a good fit for a home with cats. If you have a soft spot for underdogs and understand that trust is earned—not rushed—Cairo is ready to reward your patience with a lifetime of quiet loyalty and companionship.
