Notes from Last Hope K9 Rescue

Adoptable in: MAGood with dogs: Yes, with proper introsGood with cats: NoGood with kids: Older children only (16+)Crate trained: YesHouse trained: YesHarley Memphis: Elder Statesman, Professional Snuggler, and Spray Cheese EnthusiastMeet Harley Memphis, a sweet, loyal, sensitive senior gentleman who is officially accepting applications for his retirement home. His ideal retirement package includes comfortable accommodations, excellent snacks, attentive humans, and absolutely no unnecessary drama (although the sneaky boy does love hot gossip so don't leave him out of the loop if you stumble upon something juicy).Harley underwent two major surgeries last year, which means he's been through more than his fair share of shenanigans. But don't let his medical history (and missing leg) fool you - this guy still has plenty of personality, love, and occasional zoomies left in the tank! He's looking for a family who can accommodate his unique medical needs and help him enjoy his golden years in the luxurious style he clearly deserves. Harley's hobbies include: Snuggling: He takes his position as Chief Cuddle Officer very seriously. Short walks: He's more of a leisurely neighborhood stroll guy than a marathon runner. He's a lovely walking companion who does well on leash. No need for fancy hiking equipment or a fitness tracker. Harley believes exercise should be enjoyable, brief, and preferably followed by treats. Zoomies: Yes, he still gets them! They're just the compact, space-saving edition. Spray cheese: A culinary masterpiece. Michelin stars are clearly awarded to the wrong establishments. A great addition to his daily pain meds. Napping: Preferably on one of his many strategically placed orthopedic thrones. One bed simply will not do. Pillows and blankets are required. Due to some mobility challenges, Harley is looking for a home with minimal stairs and plenty of carpeting. Hardwood floors are basically his personal ice-skating rink, and he did NOT sign up for the Winter Olympics. Since jumping onto furniture is no longer in his repertoire, he'd appreciate a generous collection of soft dog beds scattered throughout his kingdom. He likes options. He's a man of refined taste. When it comes to other dogs, Harley is open to sharing his home, provided everyone follows proper introduction protocols and keeps the energy level low. He's not a fan of surprise inspections from behind, so interactions should be supervised until he's feeling comfortable and confident. Personal space is important, people! Cats, however, are a different story. Harley finds them a little too fascinating, so he's requesting a feline-free establishment. He'd also prefer a home with older, dog-savvy kiddos (16+).Harley is currently thriving in his foster home, where he's learned that structure, consistency, and clear boundaries make life much easier. He's fully house-trained and crate-trained, although he prefers an open-door policy with his crate. He enjoys the freedom to rotate between his crate and his various beds while his foster is at work. Harley Memphis isn't looking for a wild and crazy lifestyle. He's looking for the canine equivalent of a comfortable recliner, a fully stocked snack cabinet, and people who adore him.*Harley is part of our Foster to Adopt (FTA) program.*Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at www.lasthopek9.org.
