NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

NEW INTAKE 10/1/2026: Lucy van Pelt - female - 3 1/2 years old - 12.2 (very pregnant) pounds - Shih Tzu

Reason for intake: Lucy van Pelt came to us with four other dogs. Sadly, their owner passed away and the owner's sister has been caring for them until she could find a place for them to go. The daddy to Lucy's pups are one of two dogs... Sparkey, a Shih Tzu, or Heinrich, Bichon, both unaltered. She's heading to the vet tomorrow for an x-ray so we can find out how many pups and an approximate due date, which we think is soon because she's huge!

NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link: https://www.facebook.com/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

What happens next

  1. Contact Ninna's Road to Rescue using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Ninna's Road to Rescue, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
