Notes from It Takes A Village No-Kill Rescue

Currently located at our Owensboro, KY location SIMBA IS READY FOR HIS FOREVER HOME! Meet Simba! This big, handsome boy is currently thriving in his foster home, and his foster mom has nothing but wonderful things to say about him! Simba is around 2 years old and weighs about 75 pounds of pure, big-blockheaded baby! With his big head, striking green-gray eyes, and beautiful coat, he’s definitely a head-turner—but it’s his sweet personality that will steal your heart. Simba came to the shelter as a stray and needed surgery to correct an eyelid issue. We’re happy to say he is healing beautifully, and his gorgeous eyes are now healthy with no vision problems. He’s feeling better every day and is ready to leave his past behind! Here’s what we know about this handsome guy so far: Friendly and social with people Playful and loves toys Gets along with other dogs Eager to learn and please Knows “sit” and “paw” His foster family believes he may be housebroken! We’re still getting to know Simba, so we’ll continue to update everyone as we learn more. At this time, we don’t know how he does with cats or children. Simba is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and fully vetted. His adoption fee is $200, which helps cover the extensive veterinary care he has received. This sweet boy has already overcome a rough start in life. Now he just needs someone to see what we already see—a loyal, fun-loving best friend who deserves a forever home. Apply to adopt Simba at itvrescue.org! Once your application is approved, we can help arrange a meet and greet with this handsome boy. All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped and spayed or neutered.
