Notes from Starfish Animal Rescue

Meet Harriet — Your New Snuggle Buddy!

Born at the beginning of May, Harriet is a 14-lb beagle mix with the sweetest, most gentle personality. She's a mellow little girl who loves her people and is happiest curled up right next to you for snuggles.

Harriet walks beautifully on a leash and is already learning her basic commands. She knows sit and is doing great with come when called. She's 99% house trained and very close to being fully reliable. She's also crate trained and sleeps quietly through the night without a peep.

This social butterfly loves playing with other dogs and thinks squeaky toys are the best invention ever!

Harriet is the perfect mix of playful puppy and calm companion. She's ready to bring love, loyalty, and lots of cuddles to her forever home. If you're looking for a sweet, easygoing young pup with a heart of gold, Harriet is your girl.

The adoption fee of $500 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm, and any other necessary medical treatment to ensure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe the breed, since our pups all come from shelters, we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed!

*Please note that we are a foster home-based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.

What happens next

  1. Contact Starfish Animal Rescue using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Starfish Animal Rescue, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
