A Sweet, Playful Boy Looking for His Forever Home

Gus is a lovable 1-year-old boy who weights 60 lbs and who is ready to leave his rough start behind and begin the next chapter of his life with a family of his own. Gus is sweet, energetic, playful, intelligent, and affectionate. He loves wrestling with his foster fur-brothers and playing tug-o-war with their favorite toys. Gus is an athletic young dog who loves being outside and would make a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys walks, adventures, hiking, exploring, and spending time outdoors. Gus isn’t all go, go, go! After an exciting day, he is more than happy to curl up and snuggle with his people. He also has an appreciation for a soft bed, yummy treats, and the occasional pup cup!

If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will be in touch!

The adoption fee of $400 will include spay/neuter, microchip,

age-appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm, and any other necessary medical treatment to ensure

a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe the breed, since our pups all come from shelters, we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed!

*Please note that we are a foster home-based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.

What happens next

  1. Contact Starfish Animal Rescue using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Starfish Animal Rescue, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
