Notes from Project Hope Animal

Hi, I'm Blue.

I'm 4½ years old, and I never imagined I'd be looking for a new family.

My family loves me with all their hearts. Because of circumstances completely beyond their control, they have to let me go. They are absolutely heartbroken, and honestly... I am too. This isn't what any of us wanted. They just want to make sure I'm safe, loved, and happy, even if it can't be with them.

I'm a big boy—92 pounds of love—but don't let my size fool you. I'm really just a gentle giant who wants to be close to my people. One of my favorite things is curling up beside you at night for snuggles. I also love blueberries, bananas, Milk-Bone treats, and a good game of fetch.

I'm neutered, healthy, up to date on my vaccines, crate trained (although lately I feel better if the crate door stays open, I have some separation anxiety), potty trained, and I walk well on a leash. I'm a smart guy and already know how to be a good house dog. I get along with other dogs, although I can be selective, so slow introductions are best.

Lately I've been feeling a little anxious. My whole world has changed, and I don't understand why. I'm trying my best, but I just want to know that I'm safe and that someone isn't going to leave me behind again.

I may be about 40% German Shepherd and 40% American Bully, but I'm 100% loyal to the people I love.

Right now, I need a miracle.

I need a foster home or, even better, a forever family willing to give me the stability, patience, and love I deserve. Every day that passes is another day my family worries about what will happen to me. I don't want to lose hope... I'm just waiting for someone to choose me.

Could you be the person who gives me my happy ending?

What happens next

  1. Contact Project Hope Animal using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Project Hope Animal, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
