Notes from Emmet County Animal Shelter

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org***

This beautiful girl is Wednesday! She came to us as a puppy and was adopted out but things didn't work out for her there. She and the resident little dog had issues over food and Wednesday became a resource guarder and then aggressive. She does great playing with other dogs but is not ok if food is present. She was born March of 26 so she will be a large dog once she is done growing. She is a total sweetheart though and would love a family that would fall in love with her soft ears, sad puppy dog eyes and gorgeous chocolate fur. She is a mix of lab and hound mostly (we do have her DNA test results). She is energetic, friendly to all, has no issues in the house and had already been trusted to stay out of her kennel without incident. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $350.00

What happens next

  1. Contact Emmet County Animal Shelter using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Emmet County Animal Shelter, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
