Notes from Marion County Animal Services

Meet Mocha! Mocha came to the shelter as a young, active dog with a big personality and an even bigger love for people. From the moment she’s out of her kennel, she is eager to interact, explore, and be part of whatever is going on around her. She thrives on human attention and has an affectionate, social nature that makes her easy to connect with. Mocha enjoys spending time with handlers, seeks out affection, and brings an enthusiastic energy wherever she goes. In playgroup, Mocha has shown herself to be mostly dog social and enjoys interacting with other dogs. She is playful, energetic, and likes to engage with her canine companions, though her youthful excitement can sometimes lead to over-arousal during play. With appropriate introductions, continued structure, and guidance, she has the potential to continue developing strong social skills with other dogs. Mocha is a smart, lively dog who would do best in a home prepared to give her regular exercise, enrichment, and continued positive outlets for her energy. Beneath her energetic exterior is a friendly, people-oriented dog who is eager to bond and ready to flourish outside of the shelter environment.
