Notes from Marion County Animal Services

Meet Jax! Jax is a 1½-year-old, 35-pound Pit Bull mix with a heart as sweet as they come. He’s a very timid boy at first, but underneath that shy exterior is an incredibly loving pup who is learning to trust and discover all the good things life has to offer. Jax is learning what it means to live in a home! Having never lived in a house before, he’s figuring things out one day at a time. So far, he’s discovered the joy of lounging on the couch and playing with his favorite toys! Dog and cat friendly! Jax gets along great with both dogs and cats and loves to play. A smart boy! Basic obedience is all new to him, but he’s a quick learner and is catching on fast. With patience, encouragement, and love, he’s going to make wonderful progress. One work in progress: Jax struggles with car sickness, which may be related to anxiety. We’re working on helping him feel more comfortable with car rides. Jax will need a patient, loving family willing to give him time to build confidence and adjust to his new world. In return, you’ll get a sweet boy who is eager to learn, loves to play, and is discovering just how wonderful life can be. Could you be the person who helps Jax blossom? He deserves a family who will show him that the world isn’t such a scary place after all!
