MARCO NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Marco Best Guess for Breed: Boston Terrier Mix Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of October 2026 SEX: Male
Approximate Weight: 30 lbs
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster
Special adoption considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Marco would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.
Marco is Looking For: A loving family to help him discover just how wonderful life can be! This handsome Boston Terrier is currently in Puerto Rico and is ready to trade shelter life for a home of his own. Marco has so much ahead of him to experience—from cozy dog beds and neighborhood walks to new friends, fun toys and family adventures. Because much of this will be new to him, he needs patient adopters who understand and introduce him gradually and positively to different people, dogs, places, sounds and situations. Marco would love plenty of exercise, enrichment and opportunities to use that clever mind. Training classes would be a wonderful way for him to bond with his new humans while learning the skills he needs to thrive. Consistency, encouragement and lots of praise will help him blossom into his best self. Above all, Marco wants humans who will stand beside him as his world grows bigger. In return, he promises a lifetime of love, laughter and loyal companionship. Is Marco the new family member you have been waiting for? What My Foster Says About Me: Marco is the sweetest boy you could ever hope to meet. He’s the kind of dog who makes everything easy — he’s great on walks, wonderful with cats and other dogs, and totally unfazed by stairs and elevators. Basically, he’s ready to go wherever you are!
But Marco’s favorite place is probably right next to you. He is a total snuggle bug who loves curling up with his people and soaking up all the affection he can get. He’s also wonderfully independent and can happily entertain himself when you’re busy. He's good with kids and loves nothing more than to run around the yard with kids and then snuggle up right next to them for a nap. He gets along well with other dogs and is happy to be part of a pack, whether that's with his human family or his dog friends.
Marco is sweet, easygoing, adaptable, and just an all-around lovable guy. If you’re looking for a dog who can join you for adventures but is equally happy spending a cozy day at home, Marco might be your perfect match!
