Notes from Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

TOTS NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Tots Best Guess for Breed: Shih Tzu and poodle mix Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of March 2026 SEX: Female

Approximate Weight: 10 lbs

Gets Along With: Other dogs! Tots' ideal home doesn't have small kids. Currently Living at: DC area foster home

Tots is Looking For: Her forever home! This exceptionally sweet girl landed in a rural Texas shelter heavily matted and clearly didn't have the loving start she deserved. She remains anxious and will excel in a home with and experienced dog owner who is committed to respecting her boundaries and working through some behavioral needs. In exchange for patience and kindness, Tots promises to be the most loyal sidekick and affectionate partner out there.

At this point, Tots is not attending our weekly adoption events, but we can discuss opportunities to meet her once you've completed an adoption questionnaire.

What My Foster Says About Me: Coming soon. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog .

What happens next

  1. Contact Lucky Dog Animal Rescue using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Lucky Dog Animal Rescue, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
