SPARTACUS NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Spartacus Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd/beagle mix Best Guess for Age: 11 months as of July 2026 SEX: Male

Approximate Weight: 23 pounds

Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home

Special adoption considerations: Spartacus is a shy older puppy. He needs to go to a home with a welcoming resident dog who will show him the ropes.

Spartacus is Looking For: This sweetie is just out of puppyhood - and because he didn't get the awesomest start to life before landing in the shelter, he is shy right now. He wants nothing more than to trot through life with all the confidence of a well-loved dog! To get there, he needs extra patient and loving adopters who will help show him the world at his pace - and a welcoming resident dog who will show him how to dog.

He really is a sweetie who wants nothing more than to love and be loved, to know where he belongs. In exchange he offers so many adoring gazes (that furrowed brow!) and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Is he the one you see by your side? Are you his new and forever chapter? What My Foster Says About Me: Spartacus may have the name of a gladiator, but he’s truly a gentle soul! He’s a sweet boy who can be a little shy and overwhelmed by loud, busy environments. Give him a little time to get comfortable, and you’ll see his incredibly sweet and loyal personality shine. Spartacus is happiest in a home where he can relax on the couch with his people after a couple of walks. He’s been doing very well in his crate, settles easily at home, has good house manners, and is great in the car. He’s also a lovely walking buddy who settles into your pace and calmly passes other dogs. Most importantly, Spartacus absolutely loves other dogs and needs a confident canine companion to help him feel safe, build his confidence, and become his best self. With the right dog by his side and a little patience from his people, this gentle boy is going to make someone an incredibly loyal and loving best friend!

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
