Notes from Dog Star Rescue
Please give a warm welcome to little Penelope, who is coming north from Louisiana in search of a loving forever home and family. Penelope is a Rat Terrier/Mixed breed girl who is just over one year old and a petite 19 pounds, making her a small dog (10-31 pounds). The rat terrier is known for being sturdy and energetic. Penelope is happy to spend time making friends and playing with children and other dogs. It is not known if she enjoys spending time with cats. Penelope is working at her house and leash training. Rescue dogs should be expected to have accidents as they become accustomed to a new home, family and routines. If crate training is anticipated, Penelope requires a crate that lets her lie down, stand up and turn around. Crates should never be used for punishment, should be warm and cozy dens and Penelope should be able to go in and out as she desires during training. Her past is a bit of a mystery, but if you are open to discovering all this little girl can offer in companionship and affection, she is ready to come home with you.* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Penelope is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us. If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.
