Notes from Dog Star Rescue
Get ready to fall in love with Meesh. Meesha and his sister Pandora are 7-month-old Great Pyrenees/Labrador mixed breed pups who were found as strays and now have the good fortune to come to Connecticut to find their forever homes and families. Meesh is a handsome, 34-pound lad with a mostly white coat, a black face and a full bushy tail. He has some growing up to do and it is estimated he will be a medium sized dog (31-60 pounds). Walks, frolics, fun and games all make Meesh a very happy boy and peanut butter stuffed inside a Kong is his favorite treat. Meesh has a great time with dogs and children. It is not known if Meesh is happy to spend time with cats. Meesh is learning all about house training and leash rules. Puppy training requires consistent lessons with plenty of positive reinforcement and time for rest and cuddles. It is important to remember that rescue dogs may have accidents as they transition to a new home. If crate training is planned, Meesh requires a crate that is big enough for him to turn around, stand in and lie down. Crates need to be warm welcoming places and must never be used for punishment. There is always a bit of mystery around a stray but Meesh is a very sweet fellow with affection to bestow a hundred times over for the family that is ready to bring him home.* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Meesh is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us. If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.
