Notes from Dog Star Rescue
Usually, adventures happen after dogs find their forever families but for Apollo his adventures started out early. He previously spent his days playing with neighborhood kids until he was picked up as a stray. After the pickup, he was able to ride along with the officer on a night shift. That is quite the adventure for Apollo and although he enjoyed the excitement, he is ready to settle down with his family. Apollo is a one-year-old Australian Kelpie mix, and he is a medium-size boy of 48 pounds. Apollo is a funny, happy boy with a huge smile to greet everyone. He is very dog friendly, and he certainly enjoys interactions with children, but he has not met a cat since coming into rescue so that remains an unknown at this time. He loves toys, especially outside. With his black coat, long legs and giant ears, he is hard to miss, and he has never met a stranger. Apollo is already leash trained and enjoys going on walks. He is a medium energy boy so he would fit in well with a moderately active family. He is learning his house training and crate training. This beautiful and resilient boy will be a great canine companion. He is confident in new situations and will be a delight to share daily life with. Apollo knows that he is headed for bigger and better things. Show Apollo with way home and apply for him today. * When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Apollo is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us. If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.
