MAYA
German Shepherd Dog (medium coat) · Adult (5 years 1 month) · Female · Large · Brighton, CO
Notes from Adams County Animal Shelter
Maya is a shy and nervous girl at first, but with patience, space, and some tasty treats, she’ll happily show you her sweet, loyal side. She can be leash and barrier reactive, yet she listens very well to direction, and she’ll benefit from harness training and positive, fear-free reinforcement to help build her confidence. Maya loves playing with toys and has lived with cats before; her previous home shared that she was curious, so slow, supervised introductions would be important. Due to her fearfulness and past home history, Maya should be the only dog in the household, and she’ll do best with kids 10+ who can help support her training. With the right family, Maya will blossom into a loving and devoted companion.
