Notes from St. Bonnie's Sanctuary/Lange Foundation

Marvin is a sweet, young boy we rescued from the San Bernardino Shelter. He was turned in as a stray with a few wounds, including a painful foxtail embedded in his paw. Since then, he’s healed up beautifully and is ready for the next chapter of his life.

Marvin can be shy when meeting new people, but once he feels safe, he melts into affection and loves to snuggle. He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys their company.

Like many dogs with a rough start, Marvin is still learning to feel fully secure. He can be sensitive around high-value items and may guard them, which is something a patient adopter can work on with the support of a positive-reinforcement trainer. Because of this, Marvin would do best in an adult-only home with someone experienced or willing to learn how to support him as he continues to build confidence.

We also think Marvin would be happiest in a home with no other pets. He has a bite history, which we’re happy to discuss in more detail with interested adopters. Marvin deserves a chance with someone who understands his needs.

He’s also managing some skin allergies and is on medication that’s been helping him feel much more comfortable. He also loves bath time, which really helps his skin.

Marvin is a good boy who’s come a long way. He just needs someone experienced and patient.
