Notes from Yolo County Animal Services Shelter

Buttercup may share her name with the fierce Powerpuff Girl, but right now she’s more “sweet but scared” than “kick-butt superhero.” This German Shepherd girl is having a tough time adjusting to shelter life. The noise, the barking, and all the chaos can make her a little anxious. She shows some barrier reactivity as she navigates the kennels, but underneath it all, she’s a friendly, gentle soul who LOVES humans. With the right introductions, Buttercup LOVES to play with other dogs, and she could totally thrive as an emotional support pup with some basic training. She’s a smart girl who would benefit from practicing her leash manners, but what she really needs is a calm, loving forever home to help her feel safe and confident. Give her a cozy spot, some patience, and a family ready to help her blossom, and Buttercup could show that tough exterior hides the sweetest heart ever like the OG Powerpuff girl. Email adopt@yoloshelter.org to meet her at our shelter in Woodland!
