Notes from Sacramento County Animal Care and Regulation

Meet Ruby, a smart, joyful female German Shepherd who is eager to find her forever home !Ruby is the ideal companion—attentive, sweet, and always eager to please. She loves being near her humans, happily following you from room to room and resting loyally by your side. Here are a few highlights that make Ruby so special: * Ruby is an absolute star on walks. She walks calmly without pulling and stays completely unfazed, calm, and quiet when passing other dogs. She gets genuinely excited for her daily walks (and isn't afraid to give you a soft `protest` if her outdoor time gets skipped!). * Highly intelligent and observant, Ruby has a hilarious, gentle personality. If she gets caught doing something she shouldn't, she immediately curls up and gives you the most apologetic, melt-your-heart look.* Ruby is a world-class affection seeker. Once you start giving her belly rubs, she’ll use all her charming communication skills and persuasive gentle nudges to keep you going ! She isn't fussy about food at all and enjoys her meals without any fuss. Note for her adopters: On long walks (even up to 50 minutes), Ruby tends to hold her potty breaks and prefers doing her business in the comfort and security of her own yard or designated home space. She seems to be sensitive in the hind back area be gentle and overtime she should get better once she has established trust with you. She likes to communicate with her soft mouth but very gently (she is a gentle giant) .Ruby is ready to bring endless love, devotion, and joy to a family lucky enough to call her their own !
