Adoption fee: $650 Kayak & Catamaran: Small Boats, Big Personalities

All aboard for puppy kisses, tiny adventures, and a daily cruise between the toy basket and your lap! Kayak and Catamaran are 10 week old Maltipoo mixes who came to DPS Rescue with their mama, Marina, who weighs about 25 pounds. These little Boat puppies are ready to set sail for their own forever homes—and each has a distinctly different approach to captaining the ship.

Although they’re Maltipoo mixes, their coats have a more terrier-like texture. Their foster reports low shedding, but they are probably not allergy-friendly.

Kayak: The Sweet First Mate

Kayak is a playful, affectionate little boy whose favorite destination is wherever someone is handing out cuddles. He loves interacting with people and is delighted when a play session includes a pause for pets. Toys are wonderful, but have you tried being told you’re a very good boy while someone rubs your little head?

The more sensitive of the two puppies, Kayak appreciates reassurance as he figures out the world. A patient family who will let him settle in, celebrate his small victories, and help him build confidence would be a wonderful match. He has plenty of puppy energy, but his foster’s favorite thing about him is how much he treasures those quieter moments of affection. Beneath that busy little exterior is a very tender heart.

Catamaran: Captain of Curiosity

Catamaran is a lively, curious little guy who would like to know what’s over there—and, while we’re investigating, what’s over there? The bolder of the pair, he enjoys exploring his surroundings and keeping tabs on the action. If there’s something interesting happening, Catamaran would appreciate being included in the official inspection.

His adventurous streak comes with an equally enthusiastic love of people. He's happy to play, happy to explore, and very happy to collect cuddles when his rounds are complete. His ideal family will enjoy his inquisitive personality, give him safe ways to discover new things, and make basic puppy training part of the fun.

The Daily Cruise

Their current schedule includes four meals, served around 8 a.m., 11 a.m., 4 p.m., and 10 p.m., with frequent potty breaks and plenty of playtime throughout the day. At night, they sleep snuggled together in a crate. Their future families can build on that bedtime experience while helping each puppy adjust to sleeping independently.

Learning the Ropes

These two are affectionate, energetic babies with all the usual puppy projects ahead: housetraining, leash skills, learning what belongs in their mouths, and discovering that the yard does not require excavation. They chew, dig, and bark, so their families should be ready with appropriate toys, supervision, and patient, consistent guidance.

A Forever Port for Each Puppy

Kayak is looking for gentle encouragement, playful companionship, and someone who appreciates a puppy with a soft heart. Catamaran is seeking a family ready to nurture his curiosity, join his adventures, and keep a lap available between expeditions. Kayak and Catamaran will be adopted separately, so each can develop confidence and build a special bond with their own family. Whether your heart belongs to the sweet first mate or the curious captain, these little boats are carrying some very precious cargo.
