BOSS
Belgian Shepherd Malinois (medium coat) · Adult (4 years 9 months) · Male · Large · Woodland, CA
Notes from Yolo County Animal Services Shelter
Boss is a handsome 4-year-old, 70-pound Belgian Malinois who arrived at the shelter with his sister, Luna. His name is Boss, but apparently nobody told Luna! She's the one running the show, making the rules, and probably scheduling his bathroom breaks. Boss? He's just happy to be included! If you know the Malinois breed, you know they're usually energetic, intense, and ready to apply for a full-time job with the FBI. But Boss is surprisingly mellow. While a little shy at the shelter, underneath that reserved exterior is a gentle sweetheart who loves people, hugs, cuddles, and affection. There is just one teeny-tiny detail...Boss and Luna are both proud graduates of the Houdini School of Escaping! That's right! These siblings earned matching degrees in Escape Artistry, with majors in Disappearing Acts and minors in Creative Problem-Solving! Apparently, they were such dedicated students that their repeated escapes from their previous owner's property eventually landed them both at the shelter. Talk about taking your education a little too seriously! Yes, our sweet Boss is an escape artist and bolter! His future family will need secure fencing, careful door management, and a good sense of humor. But here's something worth thinking about. Maybe he hasn't yet discovered a place that makes staying more exciting than leaving. With patience, love, and a secure home, perhaps Boss will discover that the greatest adventure isn't on the other side of the fence, but curled up beside someone who loves him. His Houdini skills will still need careful management, of course! Let's help Boss find his forever home—meet him by making an appointment at yoloshelter.org/dogs, or email adopt@yoloshelter.org.
