Notes from Sacramento County Animal Care and Regulation
Don't Judge This Beauty by Her Kennel FaceMeet Sassice—Part Pittie, Part Kitty, All Princess! Don't let her stressed shelter face fool you! This velvety-black beauty is a completely different girl outside the kennel. On a sleepover, Sassice proved she's a sweet, easygoing houseguest with some hilariously adorable quirks! First, she's apparently part cat. Give her a plush pillow and she'll knead it, suckle it, carry it to bed, and fall asleep like a pampered princess. Your throw pillows have been warned! Sassice settled into her foster home almost immediately, had zero potty accidents, slept through the night, and handled short periods alone beautifully. She's also a self-appointed backseat driving instructor, although she settles nicely when secured in the car. On outings, she was calm around traffic, shopping carts, people, and passing dogs. She may want to chase cats or wildlife, so those encounters need careful management. Baths? Not her favorite, but she handled one like a lady. Sassice doesn't need a palace. Just a loving home, a cozy bed, and perhaps a pillow of her very own. Come meet the princess behind that worried shelter face! Sassice recently met some social dogs at our shelter but didn't seem to want to make dog friends right now. We hope that as she gets more experience in our shelter playgroups, she’ll be ready to show us her silly side with other dogs. Looking for a buddy for your dog? Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we're a match! Check out her playgroup video here:To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis.
