DUKE
Anatolian Shepherd (medium coat) · Adult (3 years 6 months) · Male · Sacramento, CA
Notes from Sacramento County Animal Care and Regulation
Looking for someone to keep you warm this winter? Duke is your boy. Don't let his size fool you - Duke has the soul of a lap dog and will take any opportunity to snuggle up with you. He is about 3 years old, loves all people, and is playful with other dogs. He is currently in foster with two children, and while he adores kids, he would do best in home with school age children due to his size. He sleeps quietly all night, and is house trained. He walks well on leash and is working on his basic obedience. He is a quick study and mastered sit and touch in just a few days! He rides well in the car, and would love to accompany you on all your adventures. He enjoys spending time outside in the yard, and is a master at finding somewhere cozy to curl up inside the house. He's a soft-hearted boy and is eager to please his people. Duke is currently working on gaining weight, but once he has a chance to fill out with his forever family, he is going to be a gorgeous boy! Duke has not been in foster care with cats so we do not know how he would do in a cat home. With slow and appropriate introductions it is possible that he could live with a cat. If you're interesting in meeting Duke, please email his foster mom at slshintaku@gmail.comDuke has participated in shelter playgroups and may enjoy a compatible canine friend in his new home. Looking for a buddy for your dog? Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we're a match! Check out his playgroup video here:All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis.
