Notes from Yolo County Animal Services Shelter

Eevee may be 10 years young, but this sweet little grandma still has plenty of love and personality to share! During a recent day trip that turned into an overnight sleepover, Eevee proved to be an absolute delight! After all the hustle and bustle of shelter life, she decided to take a well-deserved vacation and slept for approximately 18 hours! Apparently, Grandma had some serious beauty sleep to catch up on! But don't let her impressive napping skills fool you! Eevee LOVES going on walks! She enjoys exploring the neighborhood, sniffing all the interesting smells, and keeping a watchful eye on those suspicious squirrels. Eevee can be mildly reactive toward other dogs on walks, occasionally whining or giving a little grumble as they pass. However, she responded well to redirection, and her reactions improved throughout the walk. At home, Eevee was a dream! Fully potty trained, well-mannered, sweet, and incredibly easy to care for. She would even make a wonderful office companion, provided her job description includes plenty of naps and absolutely no overtime! The hardest part of her adventure was returning to the shelter. Eevee is a very sweet girl, but she makes it clear that going back into her kennel is not her favorite activity. After seeing how peacefully she rested in a home, it's hard not to wish that every night could be that comfortable for her. Eevee's name can symbolize transformation, adaptability, and new beginnings, and that's exactly what we're hoping for! This lovely senior lady doesn't need anything fancy. Just a cozy bed, leisurely walks, a peaceful home, and someone to love her. Eevee has already mastered the art of retirement so please make an appointment to give her a forever home where she can enjoy it! yoloshelter.org/dogs, or email adopt@yoloshelter.org
