Notes from El Dorado County Animal Services - Placerville

Meet Marley — the dog who will make you wonder how you ever lived without him. Marley is a sweet 2-year-old Pit Terrier mix with a playful, happy demeanor and a heart as big as his smile. This gentle, good-natured boy loves people and greets everyone like a friend. He’s friendly and wonderfully social — great with adults, kids, other dogs, and even cats. With his very low prey drive, he’s a peaceful presence in any home. Marley shines when he’s out of the kennel. Shelter life was hard on him, so Marley is spending his time in foster where has has had a glowing report. Smart, affectionate, and eager to please, his personality bursts through the moment he has space to breathe, explore, and just be himself. He loves to play ball, enjoys walks (and walks well on leash), and absolutely adores water — splash time is one of his favorite things. Despite his playful energy, Marley has a wonderfully gentle side. He takes treats softly, shares toys politely, and you can even take his bone without any issue. He’s content entertaining himself with toys when needed and can settle nicely on his own. But what Marley wants most is to be included — to curl up beside his people, feel loved, and to belong. He doesn’t need a perfect family; he just needs his family. Someone with patience, understanding, and room in their heart for a sweet dog who has so much love to give. Marley has been waiting for the chance to join his forever family and live a life of full of love, affection, and quality time. We hope the family meant for him finds him soon — because whoever takes him home is going to gain the most loyal, loving, and joyful companion they could ask for.
