❤️ Personality & Breed Information
Pixel is a friendly 1.5-year-old Terrier mix weighing approximately 27 pounds. She's a social girl who gets along well with other dogs and people and is ready to find a loving family to call her own.
Pixel enjoys being around others and has the kind of friendly personality that makes her a wonderful candidate for a family looking for a young companion. A home without cats is preferred for Pixel, where she can comfortably settle in and enjoy life with her people and canine friends.
As a Terrier mix, Pixel may share some of the traits commonly associated with Terriers, including being intelligent, curious, playful, affectionate, and full of personality. Terriers often enjoy exploring and staying involved in whatever their families are doing.
Pixel would benefit from daily walks, interactive play, mental enrichment, positive-reinforcement training, and plenty of companionship. At only a year and a half old, she has lots of life ahead of her and plenty of opportunities to learn, explore, and build a strong bond with her new family.
Training, Adjustment & What to Expect
Moving into a new home is a big change, and Pixel should be given time to become comfortable with her new surroundings and routine.
Rescue dogs may arrive with basic training at best, so her adopter should be prepared to continue working on house manners as needed, leash skills, basic commands, recall, calm greetings, household boundaries, and positive socialization.
Consistency and positive reinforcement will help Pixel understand what is expected of her while building trust with her new family.
The 3-3-3 Rule
3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe 3 Weeks to understand her new household routine 3 Months to fully settle in, build trust, and feel at home
These are guidelines rather than deadlines. Every dog adjusts differently, and Pixel should be allowed to settle in at her own pace.
Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care
Pixel is not currently spayed. Her vaccination status has not been provided.
Her adopter should review her medical records with a veterinarian and discuss spaying and any vaccinations or preventive care she may need.
Her ongoing care should include routine veterinary examinations, appropriate vaccinations, flea and parasite prevention, dental care, quality nutrition, healthy weight management, grooming, nail care, and veterinary treatment whenever necessary.
