Notes from San Jose Animal Care Center
10/28/26 11:37From the foster:Nova is a sweet, compact bundle of love who was an absolute joy to foster this weekend. She has a wonderful balance of playful energy and affection. She loves running around with her toys, chasing balls, and then curling up right in your lap or next to you when it’s time to relax. Around the house she was my curious little sidekick, following me from room to room and keeping an eye on me while I did everyday things like laundry, cooking and dishes. When she wasn't helping me around the house, she loved sitting in the sun watching the world go by and keeping a close watch on the squirrels running along the fence. She was a dream guest with great house manners. Nova appears to be housetrained with zero accidents and would get right down to business when I took her out first thing in the morning. Overnight, she slept soundly in her bed, patiently waiting for me to stir before waking me up with morning kisses. She is also a great car passenger, attentively looking out the window. We went on several walks together during her stay. She was excited and pulled at first, but she would eventually relax a bit and walk with a looser leash. She enjoyed sniffing as we walked and especially loved when neighbors stopped to say hello to us along the way. We also took an outing to a local Starbucks where Nova was an absolute champ. She behaved well, happily sitting beside me and soaking up the attention and compliments from people stopping to admire how good-looking and sweet she is. Overall, Nova is a great dog who deserves to find her forever home.
