❤️ Personality & Breed Information

Emma is a beautiful Chocolate Labrador Retriever mix already weighing approximately 33 pounds. She is still very much a puppy, but she's growing quickly and will likely be a larger adult dog.

Emma is friendly with other dogs and good with children. Her compatibility with cats is currently unknown.

As a Labrador Retriever mix, Emmita may share many of the qualities Labs are loved for. They are often friendly, affectionate, playful, intelligent, enthusiastic, and people-oriented. Labs also tend to remain playful well beyond puppyhood and generally enjoy being active participants in family life.

Because Emma is a mixed-breed puppy, her exact adult size, appearance, temperament, and energy level cannot be guaranteed. However, given that she is already approximately 33 pounds at only four months old, adopters should be prepared for a substantial adult dog rather than choosing her based on her current puppy size.

Emmita will benefit from:

Plenty of love and companionship

Daily age-appropriate exercise and play

Positive-reinforcement training

Puppy socialization

Interactive toys and appropriate chew toys

Mental stimulation and enrichment

Consistent routines and boundaries

Patience throughout puppyhood and adolescence

A secure indoor home

Continued veterinary care

A lifelong commitment

She's an adorable puppy today, but her family needs to be equally excited about the big adult dog she may become.

Puppy Training, Adjustment & What to Expect

At only four months old, Emma is still a baby. Her adopter should expect normal puppy behaviors, including chewing, puppy nipping, occasional potty accidents, bursts of energy, curiosity, distraction, and testing boundaries.

Rescue puppies generally arrive with basic training at best. Her family should be prepared to continue working on:

House training

Crate training as appropriate

Leash manners

Basic commands

Recall

Appropriate chewing

Bite inhibition

Calm greetings

Household boundaries

Continued socialization

Because Emma is already a bigger puppy, good manners are especially important. Behaviors that seem cute when a puppy is small—such as jumping or pulling on the leash—can become much harder to manage as the dog grows.

Early, consistent, positive-reinforcement training will give Emma the foundation she needs to become a well-mannered adult companion.

The 3-3-3 Rule

3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe

3 Weeks to understand her new household routine

3 Months to fully settle in, build trust, and feel at home

Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care

Emma's vaccination, spay, deworming, and other medical information was not provided, so her adopter should review her complete medical records and establish an appropriate care plan with a veterinarian.

At four months old, she's still in an important period of growth and puppy veterinary care.

Her future family should provide routine wellness examinations, age-appropriate vaccinations and boosters, spaying if not already completed when appropriate, parasite prevention, quality puppy nutrition, dental care, healthy weight management, and continued training and socialization.

Because Emma is a growing puppy who may become a larger dog, her exercise should be age appropriate while her bones and joints continue developing.
