Notes from Friends of Orange County's Homeless Pets

Meet our tiny treasure This sweet little girl is about 2 years old and only 10 pounds, but she has a big personality just waiting to bloom. When she first arrives in a new home, she may be a bit shy and unsure, needing a little time to feel safe and comfortable. With patience, a calm environment, and a gentle approach, she quickly begins to open up. Here’s the magic part ✨ — give her a few days of space, consistency, and kindness, and she transforms into a fun, playful, and fabulous little dog. Once she feels secure, her true personality shines and she becomes an absolute joy to be around. She would do best in a home with another small, friendly dog, as she loves canine companionship and gains confidence by following their lead. A quiet home with adopters who understand shy dogs and are willing to let trust build naturally would be perfect for her. If you believe love, patience, and kindness can change

What happens next

  1. Contact Friends of Orange County's Homeless Pets using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Friends of Orange County's Homeless Pets, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
