Notes from Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter

* Loves people and is gentle with kids* Loves playing with other dogs* Energetic, affectionate, smartApplejack is a playful shepherd mix who loves making friends, playing with her foster sister Jasper, and snuggling up with her people. She’s a big goofball who loves attention and firmly believes human beds are much better than dog beds! She’s smart and treat-motivated, but she has a stubborn streak and likes to test boundaries. She’s working on leash manners, recall, and potty communication. She also has a strong prey drive and can pull hard toward people, dogs, and critters she wants to chase or greet. Applejack needs an active home with plenty of exercise, enrichment, and opportunities to play with other dogs. A playful, confident canine companion would be a big plus. She can get into mischief when bored or left alone, so she’ll need a family willing to continue her training and help her learn to settle. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, cuddly companion with a big personality and plenty of love to give, Applejack could be your girl!
