Notes from Ventura County Animal Regulation

Athena was in foster for 3 days with a VCAS volunteer for our July 5th foster event! Here's what her foster had to say:Athena is such a great dog! She is very sweet and affectionate, good with kids, and comfortable around other people and dogs (such as on walks). Athena loves to cuddle with toys and be around her people. She really enjoys long walks. Otherwise, she's a couch potato and is definitely a velcro dog! She is potty trained. She is also crate trained, when she was put in at night and when I would have to leave her at home alone. She is very quiet around the house with her humane, though we're still working on her comfort with being alone! She is good on a leash (and even okay with being leashed, which wasn't the case in the shelter), but will sometimes pull if she sees a squirrel or lizard. She did well around a cat in the home. She was very curious about my cat, but generally left him alone. She was comfortable meeting people outside the home. No issues. She was very sweet and gentle with my two small children. My kids are 6 and 3. My 6 year old loves her and all the affection Athena gave her. So many kisses and cuddles!
