Notes from Second Chance Dog Rescue

Meet Johnny! He is an 8 month old, 35 lb. Retriever/Basset Hound mix. Johnny is a sweet, gentle pup with a heart of gold who is looking for a patient, loving home. While he can be a bit shy and hesitant when meeting new people outside the house, his quiet and tender nature shines through as soon as he feels safe. He rarely barks, gets along wonderfully with cats, and is playful with other dogs. Johnny thrives on companionship: he prefers to spend most of his day hanging out by your side, sleeping right next to you, and working through his separation anxiety. He is actively working on his potty training, but he usually goes outside for his regular bathroom breaks 2 to 3 times a day. He is also working on his crate training and learning how to feel comfortable being home by himself. Johnny loves going on long walks or hikes, though loud noises or sudden passersby can occasionally startle him. Overall, Johnny is an exceptionally sweet, loyal boy who will make a deeply loving companion for a peaceful household. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $350. A refundable training deposit of $100 will be also due upon adoption. Training must be provided in a timely fashion to ensure our pups become the best canine citizens. The training deposit will be refundable within 3 months of the adoption date.
