Notes from Golden Gate Basset Rescue

Pickle is a beautiful black and white dog with a smooth coat, lovely ears and soulful eyes. Her breed mix is just a guess, but her relatively short legs and floopy ears suggest that she may be a basset hound mix. However, whatever her ancestry, this girl is agile and a jumper! She can easily jump over a standard baby gate. Pickle was an unclaimed stray in a local shelter and is guessed to be around 3 years old. Pickle is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. Although initially standoffish with the other dogs in her foster home, it took only about 30 minutes for her to get comfortable with the dogs and to start playing. However, she seems to be most comfortable around dogs her own size, or smaller. She is not fond of the family's bloodhound, but she loves their two basset hounds. She will chase the family cats. In terms of her humans, Pickle definitely prefers women to men. It took her some time to warm up to her foster dad. It is unknown, at this time, how she reacts to children. She's a good car traveler. A "homebody", Pickle is not especially outgoing and finds crowds and events stressful. If you think Pickle sounds like the companion you have been looking for, and you have a securely fenced yard, please submit an Adoption Application.
