Notes from Melita's Dream Animal Rescue

Meet Selena — A Gentle Soul Ready for Her Forever Home

Selena is a beautiful Labrador & Pit mix with the kindest, most loving heart. She was rescued from Contra Costa Animal Care , a high-risk shelter where her life was in danger. Today, she is safe—but what she truly needs now is a family to call her own.

Selena is about 4 years old and weighs around 80 lbs. She is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. She’s currently working with professional trainers and continuing her socialization with other dogs. With proper introductions, time, and patience, Selena continues to blossom more every day.

What makes Selena truly special is her deep love for people. She is incredibly sweet, gentle, and affectionate—she simply wants to be close to her humans and feel safe and loved.

Despite everything she’s been through, Selena’s heart remains open and full of love. She is patiently waiting for her forever home—a family who will see just how special she is and give her the life she deserves.

If you’re ready to open your heart and home through adoption or foster-to-adopt, please contact the rescue.

Selena’s happy ending is still waiting to be written.
