My name is Buddy, I’m about 1½ years old, around 40 lbs, and I'm told I'm a Beagle/Boxer mix — which basically means I'm equal parts playful goofball and loyal cuddlebug. I get along great with other dogs, I'm house-trained, and I even know how to use a doggie door (yes, l've got my diploma in "Good Boy Basics"). My short, sleek coat means I hardly shed - less vacuuming, more belly rubs. I'm also vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and ready to join my forever family.

As for my personality? Think of me as the perfect coffee blend: not too strong, not too mild, just right. I'm chill when you want peace and silly when you need a laugh. Basically, I'm the kind of guy who fits right in anywhere. If you're looking for a best friend who's loyal, fun, and easy to love - I'm your Buddy. Message them to meet me — I can't wait to be your new best friend.

Buddy is available to meet in the San Diego area. For further information or to meet Buddy, please contact his foster dad, RJ Casey at 949-701-7755 (call or text)

What happens next

  1. Contact Second Chance Dog Rescue using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Second Chance Dog Rescue, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
