retty little Gidget is a 5-year-old, 15 lb Chiweenie with a gentle spirit and the sweetest personality. She has a soft, shiny black coat with a touch of white on her chest and around her muzzle, and she’s the perfect combination of cuddly, playful and calm.

Gidget was picked up as a stray and brought to the Riverside shelter, where she was absolutely terrified. She was so scared and shy that she wouldn’t approach anyone, and sadly, no one showed interest in her. When she was placed on the euthanasia list, we stepped in to save her.

Once Gidget was given the time and space she needed to feel safe, her true personality began to shine. She now comes to her people for affection and loves being petted and held. Even when she was at her most frightened, Gidget never growled, showed her teeth or attempted to bite.

Gidget is quiet, well-mannered, intelligent and incredibly loyal. She has a mellow, calming presence and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loving little dog to share their life with. She also has a playful side and especially enjoys wrestling and playing with other small dogs.

Because of her shy nature, Gidget will do best in a calm, secure home with someone who will give her a little time to settle in. Once she feels safe, she bonds deeply and has so much affection to give.

Gidget is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and fully dog-door trained. She is currently in foster care in Hesperia, CA.
