Notes from Santa Barbara County Animal Services - Santa Barbara

Meet Jonah! Jnah is a 4 year old, 90 lb red Siberian husky/Alsakan malamute. This sweet, clever, goofy boy has thrived in foster for over 6 months. His is easy to train, great on walks, loves to be with his people and adores belly rubs and scritches. He charms everyone he meets. Jonah loves to naps! As long as he has regular walks, attention and enrichment (he loves bones and treat dispensing toys), he can be left alone for 6 to 8+ hours and is non-destructive. He loves car rides, trips to the beach, and sniff-walks around the neighborhood. Jonah has a big personality. He can get excited and boistrous at times, and other times he likes his space. He can be protective of his food and space around new people. He needs a foster or adopter who can earn his trust, manage his energy, and respect his husky communication style. He is extremely adaptable and perceptive, and learns quicly with consistent and predictable body language and routines. Jonah's ideal home is low-traffic where he can be spoiled and loved. He is truly a special dog who has waited long enough in the shelter system. His adoption fee and 7 months of dog food are sponsored. His previous fosters are eager to help him transition and readily available to answer any questions.
