Notes from Friends for Life Animal Rescue

With a name like Diva, you just know this girl has personality to spare! Diva is a 2½-year-old, 41-pound Beagle mix who recently joined Friends for Life from another facility, and she's ready to bring some serious fun and excitement to her forever home!

Diva is an energetic, adventurous girl who believes life is meant to be enjoyed at full speed! Give her a little room to run, and she'll show you her spectacular zoomies. During a recent outing in the park, she discovered a toy and proceeded to tear around with it, entertaining herself and giving our volunteers quite a show! She's especially fond of small squeaky toys and knows how to make her own fun.

This enthusiastic girl would love an active family who enjoys outdoor adventures. Long walks, hikes, and plenty of playtime could be right up her alley! Diva is a strong girl who currently pulls on the leash, but our volunteers are helping her work on her leash manners. She'll benefit from a family committed to continuing that training and providing plenty of opportunities to burn off her abundant energy.

Diva has shown no reactivity toward other dogs during her time with us. Because of her strength and exuberant personality, she'll do best in a home with children ages 12 and older, including those who visit frequently.

If you're looking for a fun-loving, spirited companion who will keep you moving, make you laugh, and turn everyday life into an adventure, Diva may be just the girl for you!

Come meet Diva and discover how much fun life with this delightful girl can be!

To get started in the process of meeting Diva, please visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form, and then come by the Adoption Center to meet with one of our adoption counselors.

No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)!

Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In the event there is more than one home interested in the same animal, a lottery may be held that will include all families that are at our adoption center at the time we open the day the animal becomes available. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member.

Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).

What happens next

  1. Contact Friends for Life Animal Rescue using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Friends for Life Animal Rescue, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
