Notes from Friends for Life Animal Rescue
Good things come in small packages, and Dandi is living proof! This darling 1-year-old, 8-pound Terrier blend recently joined Friends for Life and is ready to find her forever home. Don't let her petite size fool you, though. This little lady has enough personality to fill an entire house!
Dandi is a sweet, playful girl who absolutely adores spending time with her humans. She enjoys toys, but given the choice between playing with a toy and playing with YOU, she'll pick her human every time! At just a year old, she's still very much a puppy, with plenty of energy, enthusiasm, and a fondness for playful nibbling. She'll need a family willing to patiently redirect those puppy teeth toward appropriate toys while helping her learn good manners.
When it comes to other dogs, however, Queen Dandi has spoken, and she's simply not interested in making canine friends! She prefers to keep her social calendar reserved exclusively for humans and may bark when she encounters other dogs on walks. For that reason, she's looking for a home where she can be the one and only canine queen, with a private backyard for quick potty breaks rather than an apartment setting with frequent encounters with other dogs.
Dandi also has a knack for staying close to her favorite people, sometimes a little too close! She can get underfoot, so her new family will need to be mindful of this tiny shadow to avoid accidental trips. Her pretty coat will likely benefit from regular brushing to keep her looking fabulous.
If you're looking for a pint-sized companion with a playful spirit, a whole lot of affection, and just the right amount of sass, Dandi may be your perfect match!
Come meet Dandi! She's ready to be the queen of your castle and the center of your heart!
To get started in the process of meeting Dandi, please visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form, and then come by the Adoption Center to meet with one of our adoption counselors.
No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)!
Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In the event there is more than one home interested in the same animal, a lottery may be held that will include all families that are at our adoption center at the time we open the day the animal becomes available. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member.
Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).
