Notes from Friends for Life Animal Rescue

Meet Seraphine — a sweet, splash-loving girl with a gentle heart and a personality just waiting to blossom! 🐾❤️

Seraphine is a beautiful 5-year-old, 31-pound Shiba Inu blend with a curious mind, a tender spirit, and a few adorable quirks that make her all the more lovable!

This lovely lady can be a little shy when encountering new people or unfamiliar situations, but give her some patience, a predictable routine, and a little encouragement, and you'll discover a delightful companion who's eager to explore all the wonderful things life has to offer.

Seraphine is also one smart cookie! She's house trained, knows how to use a doggy door, and has mastered basic commands like "sit." She's very food motivated, which makes training a little easier, although she has been known to develop a temporary case of selective hearing when something particularly delicious catches her attention! Fortunately, she takes treats with the gentlest of manners, and she's always happy to negotiate when snacks are involved.

When it comes to entertainment, Seraphine enjoys chew toys and stuffed animals, but her absolute favorite activity involves WATER! 💦 Whether it's chasing the spray from a garden hose, splashing around in a kiddie pool, or enjoying a splash pad, this girl believes life is simply better when you're a little wet! If you've been looking for a companion to share some backyard water adventures, Seraphine would happily volunteer!

Her foster family has been helping her build confidence with car rides and leash walking, and she's making wonderful progress. She's learning that new experiences don't have to be scary, especially when she has someone she trusts by her side.

Speaking of companionship, Seraphine has one very important request for her forever home: she needs a canine sibling! Having another dog around helps her feel more confident and secure, and she's looking for a family with a resident dog who can help show her the ropes.

Seraphine isn't looking for a family that expects perfection overnight. She's looking for people who will celebrate her progress, appreciate her gentle nature, and give her the time and reassurance she needs to truly shine.

With a little patience, a canine best friend, and perhaps a kiddie pool in the backyard, Seraphine just might discover that she's found her own little slice of paradise! ❤️

Ready to meet this special girl? To get started, please complete an adoption consultation form at https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html, then visit the Friends for Life Adoption Center to speak with an adoption counselor about meeting Seraphine.

No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)!

Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member.

Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).
