Notes from Canine Rescue Coalition

Darla is a beautiful brindle Cane Corso, about 2–3 years old, and she has done everything right:

Leash trained with lovely manners Absolutely loves to swim Playful and fun Affectionate and sweet Friendly with new people, kids included

She hypes up our early-morning volunteers, she greets everyone like a friend, and she has more love to give than she knows what to do with. She hasn't done anything wrong. She just hasn't met her person yet. And that's true for so many of the dogs in our care. They're not waiting because something's wrong with them. They're waiting because the right family hasn't come around the corner yet. But it's coming. We believe that with our whole hearts. So to Darla, and to every dog still asking those questions: hang in there. Your magical forever is just around the adoption corner.

What happens next

  1. Contact Canine Rescue Coalition using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Canine Rescue Coalition, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
