Girlie
Labrador Retriever / Beagle / Mixed (short coat) · Adult (4 years 8 months) · Female · Medium · Phoenix, AZ
Notes from Help A Dog Smile
Background: Girlie Girl is a 5-year-old sweetheart who spent her first years living in an off-grid desert environment. She was rescued from a rural Arizona property where more than 30 dogs lived without running water or electricity. Since coming into rescue, she has fully embraced the comforts of indoor living and especially loves air conditioning and soft, cozy beds. She is now ready to find a family of her very own.
Personality: Girlie is a gentle, easygoing girl who enjoys taking life at her own pace. She is a couch potato who spends her days testing out all the comfy nap spots in the house and yard, and playing with every chew toy she can find. Girlie gets along well with all people and dogs of all sizes, but isn’t compatible with cats.
Health: Girlie is overweight and needs an adopter committed to helping her safely lose weight. Getting back to a healthy weight is essential for her longterm health and quality of life. Girlie has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.
Training: Girlie is crate-trained and rides well in the car. She walks nicely on a leash but prefers to hang at home. She has excellent house manners.
Ideal Home: Girlie would thrive in a home that appreciates her calm nature. She would do well with another dog or as a beloved solo companion, and she's looking for a family that will continue to give her the comfort, love, and security she deserves.
Adoption Requirements: Girlie’s adoption fee is $350. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think she could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application*: helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application.
*Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.
