Notes from Adopt-A-Stray

Roxy had a hard start in life. We don't want to focus too much on that, because her future looks BRIGHT! But, her story deserves to be told, so here we are. Roxy came into a municipal shelter as a baby. I wasn't given any info on how she came to the shelter so I'm not sure if she was found as a stray or owner surrendered. What I do know is that her poor little ears were absolutely mangled. Again, I was not given much info, but from the photos, it looked like someone tried to give her a DIY ear crop. This is hard to think about, but it happens more than any of us animal lovers want to believe. Her ears were so mangled and infected that they had to be amputated. So she doesn't have much in the ears department any more, but she makes up for that a million times over with the love and affection that she so willingly gives. So that's her past and now let's focus on her future. Roxy is needs a home. It's as simple as that. Yes, she is a pit bull. No, she won't eat your children. This compact little girl is full of nothing but love, despite whatever hell she endured in her past. She holds no grudges. Roxy LOVES other dogs of all sizes. Before she went to her current foster home, she was fostered with multiple puppies who she ADORED. In her current foster home, she is with several other medium size dogs and she is great with them. She also enjoys going to the dog park and making lots of new friends. See video in comments. Roxy is young at about 8 months old. She is what I would call a "pocket pittie." She only weighs about 30-35 lbs and won't get much bigger than that. She spent many weeks at an overcrowded shelter that has a habit of leaving dogs in filthy kennels without any time outside for potty breaks or enrichment. But now that has busted out of there, she is learning to potty outside and is making great progress with that. She loves to sleep in the bed with her foster family, and really hopes to find a forever home that will allow her to continue that bonding experience with them. Roxy has a lot of love to give, and she's not picky who she gives it to! She just really needs a family to call her own. She is not shy or timid, she is friendly and happy all the time, with everyone she meets. She is fully vetted. In New England.
