ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://elmorehumane.org/adoption-application-online-form2.html . We respond via email to your apps so please add hselco@bellsouth.net to your contact list or check your SPAM folder for our response. If we do not receive a timely response we simply move on to another applicant. And please wait for our response as we schedule appointments to meet our pets.

Pet info, adoption cost/detail information below: PET DESCRIPTION: Balto is a one-year-old male Husky/Shepherd mix, about 65 lbs. Surrendered to us for continuously escaping his fence. Balto is an awesome boy! Smart, very gentle and loving, great with children, male & female dogs and cats AND housetrained. We are hoping that once we have him neutered that might help reduce his desire to GO. He knows his size and while doing zoomies will make sure to stay clear of you. Loves giving kisses.

DOG ADOPTION FEE is $100. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch (and we register the chip at time of the adoption); certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more. (If a dog is sponsored or has a waived or lower fee, that info will be provided at the point of adoption to the approved adopter). What happens next

  1. Contact The Humane Society of Elmore County using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to The Humane Society of Elmore County, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the dogs care guide so you arrive prepared.
