Notes from Fairbanks North Start Borough Animal Control

Falkor (A143739) is a German Shepherd x Cattle Dog mix who weighed 53.1lbs on intake!10/10/26 Falkor was brought to the shelter because his previous family didn't feel they could keep up with him. He is a high-energy and intelligent dog who really needs a regular outlet that activates his brain and body. He is a german shepard cattle dog mix and whoever adopts him should do their research on these breeds to see if they can keep up with the high demand these breeds require. He was said to be affectionate, shy but friendly, gentle when playing though he can be rough if played with roughly. He is housebroken, rides well in the car, and minds well unless he's not getting enough outlet. He is also a runner. So he needs to be on a leash outside. He can be loud but does love dog friends and was raised with cats and plays well with them! He also does well with children and does okay with babies if monitored. He has been exposed to livestock but get's anxious around them. He has no experience with pocket pets. He is also being monitored for a tracheal tear. We are recommending considering getting radiographs at the vet to confirm he healing. Until then we are walking him exclusively with a harness. If Falkor sounds like he could be your puppy please give the shelter a call!
