Notes from Humane Society of Burnett County

Smokey is a sweet 2-year-old cat with a story to tell and a heart ready for a fresh start! This brave boy came to the shelter with porcupine quills embedded in his face and an eye injury that left him with a unique appearance. Despite everything he’s been through, Smokey deserves all the love, comfort, and happiness that a forever home can bring. His journey hasn’t been the easiest, but now it’s his turn for a brighter chapter! ❤️ Smokey is looking for someone who will see past his physical differences and love him for the special cat he is. If you have room in your heart for a one-of-a-kind companion, Smokey might just be your perfect match. Come meet this handsome boy and help him start his happily-ever-after! If you would like to meet me, please visit our website and complete the pre-adoption application. Once it has been processed then we can make a date to get together! All cats are spayed/neutered (deposit required if too young), vaccinated, dewormed, flea and tick treated, microchipped and more before adoption. Our adoption policies include: Application, Vet reference, Landlord approval & Criminal Background Check. HSBC has a policy of not declawing, which is included on our Adoption Contract. We do not do same day adoptions. We request that you call for an appointment after your application has been approved to come and visit the cat of your choice. Please visit our website for additional information. The online application can be found at: https://hsburnettcty.org/adoption-application/

What happens next

  1. Contact Humane Society of Burnett County using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Humane Society of Burnett County, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the cats care guide so you arrive prepared.
