Notes from Humane Society of Burnett County

Blackie is a handsome 3-year-old black cat with a mysterious side and a gentle heart. This elusive little guy can be timid and likes to keep his distance while he figures out whether it’s safe to let someone in. He may not be the first to come running for attention, but with a little patience, a calm environment, and lots of love, Blackie deserves the chance to blossom at his own pace. Blackie is looking for a special person who understands that trust takes time and that the best relationships are built on patience. He may be a work in progress, but his potential is endless! If you would like to meet me, please visit our website and complete the pre-adoption application. Once it has been processed then we can make a date to get together! All cats are spayed/neutered (deposit required if too young), vaccinated, dewormed, flea and tick treated, microchipped and more before adoption. Our adoption policies include: Application, Vet reference, Landlord approval & Criminal Background Check. HSBC has a policy of not declawing, which is included on our Adoption Contract. We do not do same day adoptions. We request that you call for an appointment after your application has been approved to come and visit the cat of your choice. Please visit our website for additional information. The online application can be found at: https://hsburnettcty.org/adoption-application/

What happens next

  1. Contact Humane Society of Burnett County using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Humane Society of Burnett County, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the cats care guide so you arrive prepared.
