Notes from Regional Animal Services of King County

Hi! My name is Cedar and I am available for adoption!

I was brought to RASKC on September 23, 2026. I was quite fearful and on track to becoming a barn cat, but I went to a wonderful foster home for socialization and have made great progress! My foster says this, "She took a couple days to get acclimated, but is showing a lot of progress. The back scratcher tool was really helpful. Once she started eating, I was able to start socialization. She's pretty food motivated and has a healthy appetite.

Cedar may put up a brave front but she's just looking for a place and person to call home. If you say hello with a tube treat, she'll want to be friends. If you give her a little time to get settled and feel comfortable, her playful personality and big purrs will come out. Cedar loves scritches, being pet, and chasing the wand toy. She's quite agile and has great potential for learning tricks!"

Because of my shy nature, I would do best in a calm, quiet home without younger children (fast movements and loud noises startle me). When I go to my new home it is important to be patient with me and allow me time to acclimate to my new environment at my own speed. It is best to keep me in a smaller, quiet room, with my food, bed, and litterbox until I am comfortable and confident enough to start exploring the rest of my home.

When i first move into a new place I kind of do a small reset so please be patient with me.

I am a gentle and loving kitten who likes to take things slow. I may get nervous in new situations, so I am looking for a family who understands that I might need some time to warm up. Once I get to know you, I will be a very devoted friend!

You can visit me at the Pet Adoption Center on weekdays from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

The Pet Adoption Center is located at 21615 64th Ave S, Kent, WA 98032.

Come and visit me today, I'd love to go home with you!
